Privacy Policy

This page is the privacy policy for Columnar, a macOS menu bar app for Trello published by Australware. The short version: we don't collect any data.

Summary

Columnar has no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no account system, and no servers of ours. Australware cannot see your boards, your cards, your Trello credentials, or whether you use the app at all. Everything the app sends goes directly from your Mac to Trello, at your request.

Your Trello account

Columnar is a client for Trello. To show and edit your boards it sends requests to Trello's API (api.trello.com) on your behalf, using a Trello access token you grant when you connect the app.

• The token is stored in the macOS Keychain on your Mac and nowhere else.
• It is sent only to Trello, and only over HTTPS.
• You can revoke it at any time at trello.com/my/account under Applications, or by choosing Disconnect in Columnar's settings, which also deletes it from the Keychain.

Everything you see and change in Columnar is stored by Trello under Trello's own terms and privacy policy.

What Columnar stores on your Mac

• A copy of the boards, lists, and cards you last viewed, so the app can open instantly. It lives in the app's container in your user Library folder, is never sent anywhere, and is deleted when you disconnect.
• Images (member avatars, card covers) are cached in memory only while the app runs.
• Preferences such as window size and the last open board, in the app's standard macOS UserDefaults.

Files you attach

When you upload a file to a card, Columnar reads only the file you chose in the open panel and sends it to Trello. It has no other access to your files — the app runs in the macOS App Sandbox.

What Columnar does not do

• It does not collect analytics or telemetry.
• It does not report crashes to Australware. (macOS may show a system crash report dialog; any submission goes to Apple under your control, not to Australware.)
• It does not require, or create, an account of its own — it signs you into your existing Trello account only.
• It does not route your data through any server other than Trello's.

Children

Columnar is not directed at children and, as a Trello client, is subject to Trello's own age requirements.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change what Columnar does with your data, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date at the top will change. Since the app collects nothing, changes would only follow a change in what the app does.
