Privacy Policy

This page is the privacy policy for Castl, a macOS application published by Australware.

Summary

Castl does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app is sandboxed, has no user accounts, and makes no network connections. Australware does not run any backend, analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting service that Castl communicates with. Your model files, your library, and everything you type into the app stay on your Mac.

What Castl stores on your device

• Your model files — files you index "in place" stay exactly where you keep them; files you import in managed mode are copied into Castl's own sandboxed app container. Castl never modifies, re-saves, or uploads a model file.
• Your library catalog — names, tags, collections, notes, and mesh measurements, in a local database inside the app container.
• Thumbnails — rendered previews of your models, cached locally and regenerable at any time.
• Your preferences (view mode, import mode, and similar) in macOS UserDefaults for the app, locally on your Mac.
• Folder permissions — security-scoped bookmarks for the folders you explicitly granted access to (imports and watch folders), managed by macOS.
• Apple's standard backup tools (such as Time Machine) may back these up along with the rest of your data — under your control, like any other file on your Mac.

What Castl does not do

• It does not make any network connection. (The app carries the standard macOS entitlement WKWebView requires, solely to display its bundled, offline user guide — it performs no network requests of any kind.)
• It does not collect analytics or telemetry.
• It does not report crashes to Australware. (macOS may show a system crash-report dialog; any submission goes to Apple under your control, not to Australware.)
• It does not require, or use, an account.
• It does not sell, share, or retain any data — there is nothing to sell, share, or retain.

Children

Castl is suitable for all ages. It does not collect any data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change what Castl does with your data, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date at the top will change, and the change will be noted in the app's release notes.
